Ian Chesworth - Musical Director Ian Chesworth
was initially trained as a Physicist at the University of Durham
and worked as an Engineer and Manager in the semiconductor industry
before making music his full-time profession.
He has been conducting since University when he founded the choir 'AMDG' and performed works such as the Mozart Requiem, Pergolesi Stabat Mater and the Victoria Requiem. An accomplished organist, he holds the Associateship Diploma of the Royal College of Organists and has studied with David Sanger, Roger Fisher and Keith Wright. He has appeared on national TV and Radio as both an organist and conductor and also arranged and played a selection of music from Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Oratorio in the presence of the composer. Ian has recently taken up the appointment of Director of Music at Eccles Parish Church having previously been Director of Music at Elvet Methodist Church, Durham. He is currently a third-year postgraduate vocal student at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester studying with Colin Iveson. Operatic experience to-date includes Enrico (Lucia da Lammemor), Silvio (Pagliacci), Gugliemo (Così fan Tutte), Sulpizio (La Figlia del Reggimento), Melchior (Amahl and the Night Visitors), Paquillo (La Perichole), Monostatos (The Magic Flute) and Lord Felmet (Wyrd Sisters). He has taken part in a number of masterclasses, and received coaching from Sir Thomas Allen, Adele Leigh and Seth Riggs among others. In December 2000 he sang the tenor role appeared with the Northern Sinfonia in the British Premiere of ‘The Bear’ by Howard Blake in the presence of the composer. Michael Wynne - Accompanist Michael
started playing music at an early age, beginning the pianoforte at 4, and
later, at Bolton School for Boys, the organ. After leaving school he became
organ scholar at Liverpool Cathedral and then Manchester Cathedral. Michael
studied with David Titterington at the Royal Academy of Music and improvisation
with David Briggs, Olivier Latry and Naji Hakim.
Until recently, Michael was Choral Director for the Diocese of Leeds, and also Director of Music at St. Mary’s Priory, Warrington. He is in demand as a recitalist, accompanist, teacher and conductor. He has played at many major venues in this country, and an increasing number in Europe. Tours have included Prague, Paris, Belgium, the Netherlands and, most recently, Normandy. He will tour Venice and Paris later this year. |
